How We Do It!

The Cape faith community, through LRAC, has a variety of supporters, both financial and volunteer.

The Lewes Rehoboth Association of Churches (LRAC) was established in 1983 as a 501©3 group of 17 area churches that collectively wished to address issues of need within the community through action and service, as well as foster better understanding of our member churches through dialogue and worship.

Prior to the formation of an Association, each church responded to requests from community members and groups for funding and assistance through their own internal processes, usually in the form of outreach contributions. There was no central way to track these donations and often times these resources were duplicated between member churches.

The Cape Henlopen region has grown tremendously since the formation of LRAC in 1983. At the time of LRAC’s inception, the population of Sussex County was 98,000 residents.

LRAC also provides monetary support to these helping agencies within the Lewes-Rehoboth Area:

  1. West Rehoboth Community
  2. Community Resource Center
  3. Westside New Beginnings Children’s Program
  4. International Student Program (ISOP)
  5. Immanuel Shelter
  6. Cape Henlopen Food Basket
